Reflections On Nexus Experience (2)

I had recently participated in the Nexus Reactor Programme, and I found that it was eye-opening. In this programme, we werent tasked to work in groups to pitch an idea that our newly formed group agreed on to a panel of judges after a few weeks of preparation.
I think that the greatest takeaway from this programme was the various requirements needed to do a sales pitch as an entrepreneur. It was much more technical than I had imagined, as we had to find out the production cost of each unit and the sale price as part of our sales projections. This also included the fact that our start-up would be new and thus sell few units, possibly even losing money. Taking all these variables and making a reasonable sales projection which the judges would buy into made the process really challenging yet an enriching experience.
Overall, the Reactor programme gave me an insight to how challenging entrepreneurship truly is. Nonetheless, the opportunity to experience weeks of working on a pitch has definitely built confidence amongst members of Nexus as we prepare to participate in upcoming competitions.
